SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS & TRIAGE    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Due to a increase in demand for same day appointments the surgery have implemented a new system for assessing and booking these appointments. The main points of this system are explained below for your information

Triage is a system to assess the needs of a patient before booking the appropriate appointment

Anyone requesting a same day appointment will be put on the triage list and the duty doctor will ring them within the next couple of hours

If after speaking to the doctor they assess you need an appointment they will book the appointment for you

It may be that the duty doctor can deal with your requirements on the phone saving time for both you and the doctor

This system is in direct response to the demand for appointments. This allows everyone to speak to a doctor on the same day

Routine appointments for booking ahead are still available and should be booked in the normal via reception or online. We are working hard to have sufficient appointments available but this will take a bit of time to get the balance right

online healthcareAppointments for all three surgeries are made by telephoning 01977 682202, by calling at the surgery or you can register online (please ask at reception or visit our website for details). The practice aims to offer all patients an appointment with an appropriate health professional within two days.

A small number of pre-booked appointments are available and may be made up to a maximum of 2 weeks in advance.

We also have extended surgery times on Monday evening and Tuesday morning to accommodate people who work. If you cannot keep an appointment please let us know, wasted appointments mean a longer wait for other patients.

In order to make the right appointment the receptionist may need to ask about the nature of your problem. We would be grateful if you try and provide the information so they can direct you in the best way. All staff at the practice are bound by strict confidentiality rules. Each appointment is for 10 minutes, if you think you will need longer please let the receptionist know.
