The urgent treatment centres for our area are located at the Selby War Memorial Hospital and the Pontefract General Infirmary – they are walk-in services.

They will see:

  • Sprains & strains
  • Broken bones
  • Wound infections
  • Minor eye injuries
  • Eye infections
  • Flu like symptoms
  • Minor skin complaints/rashes
  • Injuries to back & shoulder
  • Minor burns & scalds
  • Minor Head injuries
  • Insect/animal bites
  • Sore throats
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Wound care
  • Coughs & chest infections
  • Emergency contraception

UTCs cannot see:

  • Chest pains (A&E)
  • Major injuries (A&E)
  • Gynae Problems (GP)
  • Stomach pains (A&E)
  • Pregnancy Related Problems (Midwives)
  • Alcohol Related Problems (Horizons)
  • Allergic Reactions (A&E)
  • Overdoses (A&E)
  • Mental Health Issues
  • Conditions likely to require hospital admission
  • Breathing difficulties (A&E)
  • General Contraception (YORSexual Health)
